PLATEAU DE FRESCATY: NEW SITE FOR TESSI

1 November saw the opening of Tessi documents services at its new site on the Plateau de Frescaty in Augny. Its goal is to provide multi-stream contact services that meet the needs of local and national businesses for customer relationship management and information flow. With room for 150 staff, activity on this site currently employs 65 people (particularly for its client Pôle emploi), a figure that has doubled since mid-January 2016. Metz Métropole Développement is following events closely!

"Until now we haven't had a presence in the east of the region and this new site provides us with an opportunity in the medium-term to develop all our activities", said Eric Jamet, Director of Marketing and Innovation.

Dominique GROS, President of Metz Métropole Développement, is delighted with Tessi's arrival in the region, especially as it has taken over Ecomouv's previous premises and has also recruited fifteen or so of Ecomouv's former employees. He highlighted how this new arrival further strengthens the area's reputation as a "customer relations hub", which already provides over 2,000 jobs in Metz.

Jean-Luc BOHL, President of Metz Métropole, likewise expressed delight at the employment opportunities afforded by Tessi's arrival in Metz Métropole and its choice of Plateau de Frescaty as its home. “This is a clear sign of the city's dynamism. It is also an indicator of how confident these companies are about expanding into an attractive region on an exceptional site, ideally placed at the heart of Europe.”

citron mécanique: THE "mechanical lemon", the first techno-artistic exhibition to take place at ENIM!

On 16 & 17 January 2016, students at ENIM, the Metz National School of Engineering, organised the first temporary techno-artistic exhibition to be held at the School. Immersed in mechanical beauty and the mechanics of art, visitors were invited to discover artistic exhibitions of industrial items and photographs along an interactive route covering 9,000m².

I
The OPMIND group representing all the students on the "innovate and undertake" option at ENIM - which had devised the event - had set itself the task of bringing together the regional communities for this exhibition at the crossroads of art and industry.

Seeking to bring together two spheres that are very often seen as opposites, OPMIND was able to get several academic stakeholders and local partners on board to forge links between the two activities. The main project participants were: ENIM, ESAL, IFA, the Masters in set design at the University of Lorraine and various regional industrial and professional organisations.

The highly original exhibition included a "de-conditioning airlock" and "sensory journey" (workshops), displaying works created by the students: exhibitions of 3D printed objects, industrial robot dances, opportunities to learn more about materials and experiences, exhibitions of sculpture and photography… all with the participation of FRAC.

ENIM: Yves Granjon appointed director

Yves GRANJON, a university professor and lecturer at the collegiate body of engineering schools of the University of Lorraine, was appointed acting director of ENIM from January 2016.

This appointment follows the integration of ENIM into the collegiate body of Lorraine engineering schools (INP), which comprises 11 University of Lorraine schools. This institutional change has required the creation of new positions within the school and the presence of an acting director to oversee it on a temporary basis until the new ENIM board can refer the appointment of the future director to the Minister in charge of Higher Education.

With ENIM's arrival, the University of Lorraine becomes the biggest French establishment training engineers with more than 6,000 engineering students and around 1,800 qualifying each year.
