GEN3: NEWS FROM THE EASTERN FRANCE DIGITAL GATHERING - 14 AND 15 OCTOBER 2015

Mission accomplished for Grand Est Numérique.  This 2-day event welcomed over 800 professionals, in 15 panel session sessions, 10 lectures and 5 workshops and gave them access to no fewer than 65 contributors from all over France. GEN3 was also a trade show with some 2,000 m2 of stands. Metz Métropole and Metz Métropole Développement were represented together on a shared stand, highlighting the importance of digital economy in Metz Métropole and showcasing the Metz Métropole Ambassadors Club, to generate contacts and new members.

Emmanuel Brandenburger of MMD took part in a panel session entitled "Why choose Eastern France to set up and develop a business?"

The topics covered included "Why choose Eastern France to set up and develop a business?", "Successful fund raising: a how-to guide for start-ups", "LORnTECH, the Lorraine region ecosystem for start-ups" and "Investing in mobile technology: the challenges of m-commerce".

"#GEN3 is clearly a growth driver for all digital projects in Eastern France," confirmed Frédéric Schnur, Association President. "In addition to encouraging dialogue between business leaders, institutions, entrepreneurs, associations and even students, #GEN3's mission is to defend the values which underpin digital ecosystems such as the Sillon Lorrain, striving for a more digital society every day."

The MMD and Metz Métropole shared stand

56 partners and 32 exhibitors including major national names supported the event to celebrate the paradigm shift in society, and helped to spread the news about digital business in the Lorraine region in conjunction with LORnTECH and French Tech. Grand Est Numérique and Metz Expo also entered into a partnership for the next three annual #GEN sessions to be held at the Metz Métropole Exhibition and Event Centre.

#GEN4 is already scheduled for October 2016, and will continue to focus on the Eastern France and Greater Region, with exhibitors from neighbouring countries such as Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and of course Switzerland. In the meantime, Grand Est Numérique will keep up momentum in the region through the after work events and hackathons that it organises throughout the year.
