A European branch of the Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgia Tech-Lorraine (GT-L) has been based in Metz since 1990 and welcomes over 700 students a year. GT-L is a unique model of Franco-American collaboration, developing a complete ecosystem around its 3 pillars of activity: Education, Research and Innovation.
Georgia Tech-Lorraine's academic excellence, combined with that of leading French, European and international schools, ensures top-level training in mechanical, electrical, IT and aeronautical engineering.
The research component revolves around the International Research Laboratory founded by the CNRS and the Georgia Institute of Technology, the first and only facility of its kind in France. There are 60 teaching researchers, engineers, PhD students and technicians.
The innovation component of the program involves a partnership with the Institut Lafayette (IL), located near Georgia Tech-Lorraine. IL specializes in the development and micro-nano fabrication of semiconductors for the transport, health, energy and environment sectors.
