Local Health Contract
The Metz Eurometropole has a Local Health Contract. Between now and 2026, 35 actions will be implemented to promote the health of local residents. Its priorities are as follows.
- Health promotion in the life course
- Promoting the psychological well-being of residents
- Strengthening health-promoting environments
- Improving access to healthcare and healthcare pathways for vulnerable people
- Anticipating health emergencies
- Promoting medical demography
Inspire Metz is particularly active in promoting medical demographics, attracting and welcoming medical interns with the CHR Metz-Thionville, and supporting the development of new economic activities linked to the healthcare sector.
Leading players and a dedicated business offering
The region also boasts a number of major players in the healthcare sector, monitored by the Agency as part of its overall economic development program:
- The CHR de Metz Thionville, located on the Pôle Santé Innovation de Mercy (a business park in the south-east of the Eurometropole) - the CHR de Mercy site employs over 2,500 people, making it the largest public employer in the region, and also in Moselle, with a total of 6,000 employees at its other sites in the département.
- UNEOS, an association of private hospitals and EHPADs
- Groupe SOS, a leader in the medico-social field, manages establishments dedicated to youth, health, the vulnerable and the elderly.
- TheHôpital d'Instruction des Armées Legouest offers local healthcare as part of the public hospital service
A framework for experimentation and innovation in healthcare
In conjunction with the skills of local and regional healthcare and innovation players, Metz Eurometropole encourages the study of themes such as mental health, occupational health, ecohealth, autonomy and ageing well, and supports entrepreneurial ventures. It also makes available the Mercy business park, dedicated to innovation in healthcare, in the immediate vicinity of the CHR Metz-Thionville.
