It has designed a range of information and events to help the 23,000 current students make a success of their studies and their life as a student in our region, as well as assistance and coordination of local players and partners to help them settle in. The agency completes the student welcome program by promoting the tools available and encouraging professional integration within the economic fabric.

Housing supply

After the orientation stage and the choice of a course via Parcours Sup, comes the question of accommodation. To facilitate the search and reassure parents, the agency has referenced student housing offers in private and public sector residences and studios. The Newcomers' Guide also includes information on shared accommodation, intergenerational cohabitation and national and local search platforms.

Student life

Student life is an integral part of Metz Eurometropole's ESRIVE strategy for higher education, research, innovation and student life. The aim of this long-term strategy is to forge new links between students and the region, and to encourage the development of campuses and higher education establishments that make a significant contribution to our region's reputation.

The metropolis has launched a number of initiatives, including the creation of a CVE (Conseil de la Vie Etudiante - Student Life Council), the introduction of student health services, food aid, solidarity and sustainable catering, good deals on consumer goods and a range of cultural, leisure and sporting activities at preferential rates.

Public infrastructures were created in 2024: LE CAP, a center for students, young people and associations, and MIEEU, a center for innovation, entrepreneurship, schools and universities, to encourage interaction, projects, creativity and innovation.

These actions and initiatives are complemented by tools and systems: a Metz l'étudiante webapp was launched in 2024, providing all the information you need for practical student life, with an online events calendar, news, tips, job offers and assistance.

Metz l'étudiante, the essential Webapp

The Metz Eurometropole has launched the "Metz l'étudiante" initiative to boost student life and enhance the attractiveness of the region. The initiative aims to improve living conditions for students and enhance the city's potential for training and innovation.

Welcome international students!

To help foreign students settle in and integrate into Lorraine, we work closely with higher education establishments and universities to facilitate their administrative procedures (registration, finding accommodation and studio flats, residence permits, internships and seasonal jobs). Every year, the CROUS Lorraine, in partnership with the Lorraine Metropolitan Council and the Agency, organizes "Echanges Gourmands", a gastronomic event to bring together local families and foreign students.
