The region's assets
Sets / infrastructure :
- Airports: three complementary airports located close to the Eurometropole.
- TGV: the TGV-Est European high-speed train line provides easy access to Paris (82 minutes), Lille, Nantes and Rennes, as well as international connections to Germany and Switzerland: Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich.
- Road network: direct north-south and east-west connections (A31 and A4).
- River network: intense river activity giving access to the ports of Antwerp and Rotterdam. Metz is France's 7th-largest river port and the country's 1st-largest grain port.
- Mettis: buses run on dedicated routes in the heart of the conurbation, simplifying connections and improving interchanges.
- Retail: With 360,000 m² of retail space, the Metz Eurometropole is a major retail hub.
- Living environment: the Moselle hillsides, lively city centers, dozens of religious buildings, military forts, picturesque alleyways...
The 46 communes of the Eurometropole echo a rich historical past and reveal a wealth of tourist, cultural and architectural treasures.

Project financing
The Grand Est region offers funds to support writing, development and production.
These grants are offered in partnership with the CNC (Centre National du Cinéma et de l'image animée), and cover feature films as well as shorts, TV dramas as well as documentaries, animation and new media.
Aids :
- Supporting the emergence and renewal of talent,
- Assistance from the support fund,
- Support for local television production,
- Strengthening the attractiveness of the region and the structuring of the industry,
- Cultural events,
- Image education with three regional centers,
- Support for cinema exhibition,
- Support for film heritage.
Support for authors
The Bureau des Images, with the support of the Région Grand Est, assists authors in developing their film, audiovisual and new media projects, and in their professionalization.
The Bureau des Images examines writing grants from the Région Grand Est. It offers a diagnosis and evaluation of projects in the writing phase, and advises on available funding, particularly from the Region.

Logistical support
Within the Inspire Metz agency, you will have 1 single, passionate and attentive contact.
Main mission: to improve the reception of film shoots, and facilitate the location and work of production teams in close collaboration with the Grand Est film office.
Role:
- Preparing to host film shoots
- Facilitating the search for sets: professional/industrial locations
- Post castings and job offers on social networks
- Helping you obtain authorization to occupy the public domain
- Put you in touch with the right people for your needs
- Enhance the region's role as a location for film shoots
- Provide material and human services
- Promote supported works at the time of their release or distribution
Plato community
Initiated by the Région Grand Est and the Agence culturelle Grand Est, the PLATO network enables local authorities to cooperate in hosting film shoots. Partner communities are committed to supporting feature film, short film, documentary, TV drama and web series projects on their territory. Each signatory community appoints a single contact to coordinate and facilitate requests, in liaison with the Agence culturelle Grand Est's Bureau d'accueil de tournages.
In addition to the potential involvement of the Région Grand Est, and in partnership with the CNC, the network's member local authorities can provide productions with a financial bonus, as well as material and logistical support to help them set up in the region.
Financial support
On behalf of the Metz Eurometropole, the Inspire Metz agency can provide financial support for productions as part of the Plato network, in conjunction with the Grand Est film office.
