Cross-border and international action

The Metz Eurometropole is ideally located at the heart of Europe, in the immediate vicinity of the German, Luxembourg and Belgian markets.

Inspire Metz, in partnership with the World Trade Center Metz-Saarbrücken and Grand Est Développement International, works with companies to boost their commercial performance and competitiveness through internationalization, as part of the Grand Est Region's Business Act and the Metz Eurometropole's economic development strategy. It offers concrete tools for international development and prospecting on export markets and business location projects.

Company internationalization

With the support of a number of partners who are experts in Franco-German and international business, Inspire Metz acts as a local point of contact, supporting companies through a program of awareness-raising events, tailor-made follow-up and personalized appointments.

International awareness-raising events

Every year, Inspire Metz organizes 20 awareness-raising events dedicated to the challenges of business transformation, and in particular internationalization. Since 2023, via the WTC Metz-Saarbrücken, a series of awareness-raising events entitled "Se développer à l'International - Du Grand Est vers le monde" (Developing Internationally - From the Grand East to the World) has provided new or first-time exporters with concrete answers to their export development projects and guidance.

Export Transformation Path

To assess your capacity for export development and determine the right target markets, the agency and its economic developers recommend personalized support as part of the "Parcours de Transformation à l'Export de la Région Grand Est" (carried out at the offices of CCI International Grand Est).

Decentralized international cooperation

The Metz Eurometropole and a number of metropolitan municipalities are committed to a policy of international cooperation. Thanks to the links created through exchange and reciprocity, they share "best practices", experience and knowledge, reinforcing the inclusion of all in Sustainable Development. This initiative also enables local companies to expand internationally as part of their development aid program.

Metz Eurometropole's decentralized international cooperation is illustrated by its commitment to economic and cultural integration on a global scale. Since 2023, it has been helping to welcome Ukrainian refugees, while participating in the reconstruction and securing of Ukraine. Meetings between economic players reinforce this cooperation, encouraging joint projects and exchanges of know-how. A Franco-Ukrainian course of study has been set up at the IAE business school in Metz, offering students a management and business course tailored to international issues.

Consulates

In addition, the Metz Eurometropole is extending its ties by hosting consular delegations, facilitating the reception and integration of foreigners, and offering intercultural events with the support of local associations, thus strengthening economic and cultural partnerships with other countries.

Agence Inspire Metz is involved in this approach, promoting these opportunities to local companies, encouraging professional integration on the one hand, and international business acculturation on the other, which contributes to the development of their export and import activities.

Prospecting and FDI location assistance

Working with Grand Est Développement International and WTC Metz-Saarbrücken as part of the regional and metropolitan attractiveness strategy, the Inspire Metz agency contributes to the prospecting of new foreign direct investment (FDI). It positions the Metz Eurometropole as a location for new businesses, and structures the ecosystem and services on offer to create the optimum conditions for setting up operations (administrative formalities, recruitment, regulations, etc.).
