A major industry in the Grand Est and Eurometropole regions
The Grand-Est is one of France's leading industrial regions. The region is the third most industrialized in France, with over 270,000 industrial jobs. The Metz Eurometropolis lies at the heart of a region with a rich industrial past, based on extraction and transformation, and now focusing on high value-added and innovative activities. It is home to two major foreign-owned industrial players in the automotive and agricultural machinery sectors (Stellantis and Usine Claas France) and over 300 small and medium-sized industrial companies (processes, subcontracting, etc.).
Innovating to transform
The Metz Eurometropolis offers an exceptional concentration of skills in higher education, research, innovation and technology transfer (CEA-Tech, IRT M2P, Université de Lorraine, Georgia Tech Lorraine, Arts et Métiers ParisTech, Centrale Supelec, ENIM, ESITC, Institut de la Photonique). To actively contribute to regional and national economic development, and to meet the challenges of industrial, environmental and digital transformation, the Inspire Metz agency supports industrial companies in their transition projects.
An area for the creation of industrial activities
The Pool, a regional incubator of excellence, also offers a specific support program for industrial projects entitled "Quest For Industry", aimed at project leaders and manufacturers. The aim is to contribute, we hope, to the development of the region's industrial attractiveness, as well as to provide more relevant support for industrial projects from the prototyping phase through to their first production plant.
Territory and Industry
Under the impetus of professional federations such as the UIMM and France Industrie, local actions and schemes are proposed to promote the sector and industrial trades to young people, in conjunction with the EMM.
The Metz Eurometropole has been awarded the "territoire d'Industrie" label as part of the second phase of the program (2023-2027).
University campuses (Technopôle, Saulcy, Bridoux), Grandes Écoles d'Ingénieurs, research institutes, vocational high schools, CFA and CFAI... there are so many structures, curricula and educational establishments in the area, training the employees of tomorrow's industry.
