FOCUS : Zoom on the European intitute of Ecology, the french company specialized in ethno pharmacology - assets

At te forefront of research in the field of environment quality in urban areas,  Metz created the European Institute of Ecology, private association under local law.
The Institute is housed in the prestigious Cloître de Récollets, in the heart of Metz.

For over 25 years now, the question of environment and ecology protection in Metz has been a major issue: during his first tenure as a Councillor, the Mayor of Metz, Mr Jean-Marie RAUSCH, and Professor Jean-Marie PELT, who later became the President of the Institute,  invented the concept of urban ecology.

The City of Metz then entrusted the Cloître des Récollets to the European Institute of Ecology founders:  the goal was to turn it into a permanent meeting point, and to keep alive the same spirit, the same philosophy as its founders : respect humble people, protect nature and welcome guests.

Promoting and developing any initiative aimed at improving the quality of life, environment and relationships between individuals, groups and nature, this could perfectly sum up the main goal of the Institute.

Among its activities, the organization of several kinds of training sessions, many conferences, a constant dissemination of knowledge and of the level of progress regarding research, through many books, print, broadcast or TV publications.
The European Institute of Ecology's main mission is to create an ethical connection between science and awareness, thought and action, research and popularization, that should and will be the very essence of science.

Alongside the EIE is the SFE association, the French Ethnopharmacology Company.
